• A Health Systems Research (HSR) unit is established in the BMRC. BMRC is providing due attention in stimulating and coordinating HSR activities in the country in order to ensure progressive rationalization in health development and efficiency in operation of various programmes.
  
  
• The objectives of the HSR Unit of the Council are to assess status of HSR in the country, strengthening HSR capabilities of health professionals & scientists and promoting utilization of HSR findings.

The Council has established a Community Health Research Centre (CHRC) in 1993 in Tangail district for promotion of community based studies and research works related to HSR in Primary and Secondary level of Health Care Delivery System.

The main objectives of CHRC are:

1. To promote, initiate and coordinate community oriented research works.
2. To promote and coordinate Health Systems Research.
3. To train manpower in the field of Community Health Research and Health Systems Research.
4. To disseminate research results through meetings at community level.
